Google vs Wolfram | Alpha?
On the portal site ZDNet published a post titled Larry Dignan. Google: Looking over shoulder at Wolfram | Alpha. (Google: watching the Wolfram | Alpha), in which he highlighted Google's response on behalf of its co-founder and President Sergey Brin at the start of service Wolfram | Alpha.
In the post refers to the annual message of the so-called '. letter to the founders. ' Which were made comments about the mentioned startup.
As you may remember the creators of the project Wolfram | Alpha, which caused a lot of hype, say that the service is able to ' understand' requests by users of algorithms.
On the portal site Wolfram | Alpha can be read:.
Wolfram | Alpha - an ambitious and long-term project designed to immediately count all systematic knowledge of the user's request. You enter a query or calculation and Wolfram | Alpha, using its built-in algorithms and ever-growing data stores, calculates the answer.
During the presentation Garvorde. the creator of Wolfram | Alpha Stephen Wolfram (Stephen Wolfram) said:.
... and try to present it in such a way that going to the site could be obtained that knowledge which is necessary. Like an expert, our service. understand what you mean. , Calculations and present you with the results. ...
Here's what he thinks about it Breen (emphasis added ):.
Although I am proud of what has been done in the search for sulfur in the last decade there remain areas that mattered, I would like us to lostigli more progress. The ideal search engines require the creation of artificial intelligence to human equality, which we believe is still a distant prospect. Nevertheless, the. I think it will soon be possible to develop a search engine that will be able to ' understand' more queries and documents than is possible today. Some argue that they were able to achieve the goal, and intellectual potential of Google is not as powerful as it may seem. But, as I see nothing has changed. Partly because the Web is growing, on the other hand a lot of documents on the subject contain the same set of vocabulary. And with the growth of the network increases the width and depth of search. I believe that our search engine will be more ' intellectual ' in the next decade.
Does this apply to Wolfram | Alpha? .

Breen also said the best search interfeysahBrin also talks about better search interfaces, which are being pitched by Wolfram | Alpha too.
Premature govrit that Google is really concerned about the release of Wolfram | Alpha, but it is clear that this event has attracted the attention of Breen. This is a feature of a good company. It would be sad if Google did not attach any importance to this.
